ESL One Genting 2018 - Malaysia’s first Minor

ESL unveiled the details for ESL One Genting 2018, the first Minor ever to take place in Malaysia. Sixteen teams will battle for a $400,000 prize pool.
ESL One Genting 2018, powered by Intel, is planned for January 26th to 28th at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands, Malaysia. The same venue also hosted the 2017 edition, which ended with the victory of Digital Chaos.
Sixteen among the best Dota 2 teams in the world will face each other for a grand $400,000 prize and 400 Pro Circuit Points. Note that almost all Minors have a prize of $300,000, the minimum requested by Valve, but ESL decided to boost the reward even further.
Ten teams will receive a direct invite to the competition, while the remaining six must earn their spot via the regional qualifiers, one for each region.
ESL also pointed out that the Grand Finals will feature a full best-of-five battle, while the remaining games will follow the standard best-of-three format.
“After this years successful kick-off with our flagship series ESL One, which was held for the very first time at the Arena of Stars in Malaysia, we already knew that this wouldn’t be our last event in Genting.
The Southeast Asian Dota 2 community showed us, what real passion looks like and provided us with one of the key factors to create a legendary esports event: atmosphere”
The final three days of the tournament will be played in front of the live audience, while the remaining matches will be available on stream and in the in-game client.
Tickets are already on sale, with a price ranging from 180RM to 500RM, and are available here.
More info on the tournament structure, invites, and open qualifiers will be released in the following weeks.
